White Doves

A popular way of adding that special touch to your loved ones funeral or memorial service is the release of white doves.
At the end of the service, family members opening the beautiful baskets and the release of the doves gives a spiritual feeling of ‘closure’ and ‘letting go’ as the doves take flight and circle several times before flying away to their home.

The significance of releasing doves helps the family with the grieving process by giving them a physical representation of the spirit of their loved one.

Initially a group of doves are released to represent the angels. As the ‘angels’ are circling a single dove is then released representing the departed spirit and will join the group before making their flight home.
